Design Wall Monday

Today on my design wall you will find two needle felted scenes from my sister Holly and one of her students. I have to square them up and add borders and then my part will be done!

My sister has a barnyard full of animals and all the fur that goes with it! She recycles the fur into many different things like hats, totes, wallets, and the coolest pincushions ever!

Another customer quilt done!

Just finished the second of three customer quilts. I am on a mission to finish the third today so I can participate in an online support group tomorrow. Support for what you ask? UFO's! Sue Hecker is sponsoring:

UFO Thursday (something new starting Thursday – a support group for those of us that have waaaaay too many UnFinished Objects or PhDs (Projects half Done) of the quilting sort languishing in boxes, bags, and closets. You know who you are!!! If you felt the least pang of guilt reading about it, come back Thursday.)

I need this, and I need it bad - I just keep starting new things and usually, rarely never finish the old ones . . .

The good news is I know that I am not alone in this predicament! So tomorrow, if you are in the same boat as I am, go visit Sue's blog!

What's on my design wall this week!

Well, I got one quilt done and the second of three quilts is on the frame a little more than half quilted! I had wanted to get one done each day, but the first one took longer than I had estimated and life kept interrupting . . . The first quilt is Jean's and I used a pantograph called Plumage from Willow Leaf Studio.

Amy's quilt is the second one and I'm using another pantograph called Angel Wings by Jodi Beamish - but I think they look like butterflies without their antennae! I am hoping that tomorrow I can finish Amy's quilt and then get started on the third quilt that belongs to Linda! Hopefully more pics tomorrow . . .

Design Wall progress!

Well, the design wall is getting full with all of the clues from the Christmas Lights Mystery Quilt in the Jul/Aug issue of Quiltmaker! I have all of my clues done now, they just won't all fit with the ceiling fan going and blowing them all off! I am supposed to be working on all of the BOM's that I'm behind on, and now that I'm caught up on this new project, I had better focus on that - I am the worst procrastinator!

What's on my Design Wall Monday!

Well, it's What's on my Design Wall Monday again! Currently, I am working on the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt that can be found in the July/August '09 issue of Quiltmaker. It's called Christmas Lights. There are 5 different units, and so far, I have 52 pieces of unit 1 done.
I also am working on getting caught up on 2 BOM's that started at the beginning of the year that I haven't even begun yet . . .

Stash Report - Week 24

I have been busy all week working on those darned 9-patches - 76 of those suckers! I finally finished them late last night, but unfortunately, I counted the fabric used last week, so I have nothing to report on the "used" end this week. I hope to do better next week though. I slipped a little and purchased 3 fat quarters when I went to the BOM at the LQS but I really couldn't resist. Did you ever have those "Dots" candies on the white paper? I did, they were one of my many favorites, still are!

Poor, poor, Emma Rose

Yesterday Emma Rose had her tonsils and adenoids removed as an outpatient. It was not a pretty picture. Today, besides not being able to swallow, she is traumatized with the back of her hand that they had the IV in... it is swollen and bruised and looks so painful. Here she is with her Grandpa and all her stuffed animals!

Stash Report - Week 23

Well, the numbers are finally getting better since I hostessed an online 9-patch block swap and a nickel swap. I made 76 9-patch blocks and for the nickel swap, I cut out 275 nickels! I used up a lot of little scraps that have been hanging around bugging me too!

What's on my design wall is finished!

Yippee! I got the top done, well, maybe not because I have now made a decision that it needs another border or two . . . any suggestions from out there in blog land?

What's on my design wall . . .

I am going to finish this quilt top before the end of the week. There, I said it, now I just have to do it! This project is Judy L's second Stash Project (the first one is already a top, but not a quilt yet). I was up late last night cutting out the narrow outer border that will finish the sashing stars, so all I have to do now is get it all sewn together!
