Stash Report - Week 16

Well, since the IKEA Towers crashed during my reorganization efforts earlier in the week, my stash report numbers have not changed. So yesterday, I made the two hour trip with 4 little girls to IKEA to purchase the frames that were destroyed from the crash. Today, I will begin to rebuild and perhaps be able to find my machine as I have forgotten what it looks like! I am going to be so inspired once I get the room put back together, I can feel it!

Rebuilding has begun . . .

Well, I started to rebuild the IKEA Towers, but I cannot go any further until I can get to IKEA to replace the 5 frames that were broken when it all came crashing down.  I am not going to build it as high as I did last time as that may have had something to do with making it unstable certainly not the fact that my grandbabies were using it as a jungle gym for climbing and swinging . . .   I am excited to take it to the next step, so perhaps I will have something to show after the weekend - I'll keep you posted as to my progress!

Quilt Room Accident . . .

Last night, I went through and painstakingly labeled each of the baskets from two of the IKEA Towers. I began to remove them and stack them in an out of the way space (which there is very little of). I climbed a ladder to remove some pizza boxes from the top when the towers began to wobble, and then it happened, the towers collapsed and there was a heap of twisted metal on the floor. The damage was severe and it may not be until next week before I am able to reconstruct in a different area of the room. I lost 5 frames and two baskets were flattened. I did not plan for it to go this way . . . Unfortunately, IKEA is 2 hours from me and I was just there on Monday. I am just sick about this.

Reorganization sucks!

Oh my, I am drowning over here.  I have begun to empty my sewing hole room and it is bad, very bad.  We may never eat at the dining room table again.  Where did all of this stuff come from?  And if one more person flings an article of clothing in this room for me to mend, I will set it on fire (the clothing, not my room).  I cannot ask anyone in my family to help me because I will never hear the end of:  why do you have all of this junk, you will never live long enough to use it all, etc.  So here I sit at my computer amid all of the piles of stuff around me.  I have not seen my machine in days as it's buried somewhere.  I will keep you all posted as to my progress, but don't hold your breath!  These pictures suck too - they were taken with my phone.

Design Wall Monday

I don't really have anything on my Design Wall today because I decided to redesign my sewing room! So I began on Friday the arduous task of removing the contents from two double sided bookcases and piling all of that stuff on the dining room table. The table is almost full now, and I only have one bookcase emptied!  My ultimate goal is to remove the two bookcases from the room and perhaps store them in the basement (with the bats) so I will not be putting anything down there that I will need anytime soon (because of the bats).  Did I mention that there are bats in the basement?
There have been a number of things that have prompted this reorganization - the most important one is that the girls have been trying to "scale" the IKEA Towers. I caught Sophia the other day about 3 feet off the floor!  I am so looking forward to being able to move freely in my room and perhaps even use the drop leaf function of my sewing cabinet which I am unable to utilize now because of the close quarters.

Stash Report - Week 15

Well, I had to go to the LQS for the BOM and I made a small purchase that has taken me to the edge of "the hole".  Tomorrow is Design Wall Monday, so I hope to have the 4 BOM's completed by then and that will help my numbers.  I also had to purchase some additional background for my Hawaiian Quilt as I am about to run out of what I have . . .

On another unrelated note, my camera has biten the dust and I find that I do not want to post anything without pictues.  Our newest granddaughters were here for Easter and I was unable to take any pictures.  I've taken a few with my phone, but the quality is just not there.  Hopefully I will be able to get out on Wednesday with my husband to purchase a replacement.

Design Wall Monday

Well, it's Design Wall Monday once again and I don't have too much more progress from last weeks post but in my defense, I have a house full of 6 little girls all under the age of 5 . . . need I say more?

2 off the frame!

Just finished 2 of Linda's quilts - I think I have at least 3 more of hers yet to be done!  I used the Meandering Feather panto on the pink one, but freehanded the pinwheel quilt and it was fun to do!  I have got to work on piecing my Hawaiian quilt though, so the longarm will have to wait until I've finished.
