Design Wall Monday

Well, there are two things on my design wall today!  On the left is what I've completed of Part 2 with Bonnie Hunter's Mystery found in Quiltmaker Magazine and on the right is JudyL's Quilt for an Hour Project!  Visit Patchwork Times to see what everyone else is working on - it's fun and motivating!

Show your stash Part 2

Well, I think it's time to come clean as I only showed the presentable area of my stash a few days ago . . . I've had some time to think about it and thought who was I trying to kid? This is another couple of shots of what you didn't see, and true to the rules, I have not picked up or straightened anything! Those two white units are double sided bookcases and they are full on all sides, but because the area between them is packed with fabric, batting, UFOs, crap, I cannot access anything, not to mention the fact that I would have to lose a substantial amount of weight to even get in between them . . . but that's a story for another day!

Week 39 Stash Report

Well, since I am under house arrest with the grand girls, I have had no choice but to use what stash I have on hand and I began the QFAH Project on Patchwork Times with Judy. I am almost caught up to Hour 5. I am happy to report this week:

  • Fabric in this week: 0.000 yards
  • Total fabric in YTD: 147.029 yards
  • Fabric used this week: 5.750 yards
  • Total fabric used YTD: 110.541 yards
  • Net: -36.488 yards

Show us your stash!

WOW, this is a great idea! Yes, Judy has done it again, come up with another brainstorm! Visit her blog: Patchwork Times, to see what it's all about and then join us.

This is a picture of what I refer to as the IKEA Towers. I stacked these so high that I had to go out and buy a ladder to access the top drawers! The opening you see is the entrance to my cave quilt room! Those boxes above the door opening are pizza boxes that were purchased at Gordon Food Service and I store BOM's and smaller projects in them along with the pattern, magazine or book from which it came. If you double click on the photo to make it larger, at the top right to the right of the pink/orange striped bag, you can see the clear plastic doggie bag containers where I have organized squares of fabric ranging from 1.5 inches to 6 inches. They come in real handy when I am working on a scrap quilt! and there is more fabric out in the garage that I can't move in until I use some of this up!

Hi, my name is . . .

Hi, my name is Kare, and I'm a JudyL Junkie . . . I cannot help myself, I have to do whatever project JudyL posts. I am supposed to be working on UFO's, but I am so easily influenced swayed.

Hour 4 is now done - onto Hour 5!

Hour 3 - Done!

Well, I was on a roll earlier this afternoon, but it's all come to a screeching halt as the twins are home from preschool and Madison (the kindergartner is due home any minute now). Steps 4 + 5 will have to wait until they've gone to bed! Is it bedtime yet?

Hour 2 - Done!

I am still 3 hours behind on this project, but if all goes well, I hope to catch up a bit more this evening!

New Project Thursday!

Today is supposed to be UFO Thursday, but I never feel like working on my UFO's, so I have renamed it Begin a New Project Thursday. That just suits my frame of mind lately anyways! So it has taken me 3 days to complete Hour 1 of Judy Laquidara's Quilt for an Hour Project! Just this morning she posted instructions for Hour 4, so I've got some catchin' up to do . . .

Design Wall - a day late!

Well, there still isn't anything on my wall, but this is the "after" picture of my quilt room the "before" picture from last week is below - I did make a little bit of progress cleaning off a portion of the cutting table . . .I have so many things I want to get started on, but there is no time during the day and in the evenings, I am just too exhausted. What's a girl to do?

A piggy came to visit!

A piggy and a goat came to visit us today! Aunt Holly bought a baby black pig for Emma at the exotic animal auction in Mt. Hope yesterday. This past Thursday Emma went with Aunt Holly to drop off some animals and she got to pet a camel, she saw a zebra, played peek-a-boo with ostriches, puppies who licked her and a big, big cow! She saw several other different animals too, as she goes through the list several times a day. I think Emma is destined to be a veterinarian!

The girls named him piggly-wiggly. Madison and Haley got to hold piggly-wiggly too! It was the funniest thing to hear this little pig squeal and snort. The girls didn't quite know what to make of it. Haley was pretty apprehensive, but she finally broke down and held him! Baby Sophia wanted to get in on the action too, but I just let her watch through the screen door!
Next, we got in the back of Uncle Tim's pick-up to see the little goat! and then it was time for a nap! The End . . .

Get me a hose . . .

Apparently, Sophia likes Oreos . . . a lot! We may have to bring in the bio hazard team for this clean-up -- get me the garden hose please!

Do you think she is putting some of that cookie in
her ear for later?

Look ma, no hands!

Design Wall Monday

Well, it's Monday, and there isn't anything on my design wall because I can barely enter the room . . . I will post an after picture as soon as I can make some sense of this mess! This is bad, very bad - I have been home for almost 2 days and I have not done anything in here. Well, today is going to be the day, because I cannot get anything done with the room like this! See what others have on their design walls by visiting Patchwork Times!

Week 37 Stash Report

Well, we are back on the Mainland again . . . it was really difficult to leave Hawaii. I misbehaved once again before I left though! I bought a lot of batik fabrics for this gorgeous Sunshine Pineapple quilt which I want to make to commemorate our trip!

I did use some fabric this week for an online Nickel Swap, only a yard, but it's gone!

I cannot believe the state of my Quilting Room. Things were so very hectic before I left for Hawaii and I guess I dumped a lot of stuff in there because I now cannot even find the top of my cutting table (and it's a big table). So for Design Wall Monday, I may be posting before and after pictures of my Quilt Room!

  • Fabric in this week: 9.5 yards
  • Total fabric in YTD: 147.029 yards
  • Fabric used this week: 1 yards
  • Total fabric used YTD: 104.791 yards
  • Net: -42.238 yards

Week 36 Stash Report

Well, I went shopping and purchased some cotton Hawaiian fabric at Fabric Mart, and then I found a "real" quilt shop called the Quilt Hut and did some more damage there . . . on a non-quilting note, we went snorkeling and the entire back side of my body is fried, but I had the best time and saw lots of neat fish and I even had an underwater camera this time! I will try to to post pictures later today!

  • Fabric in this week: 9 yards
  • Total fabric in YTD: 137.529 yards
  • Fabric used this week: 0 yards
  • Total fabric used YTD: 103.791 yards
  • Net: -33.738 yards
