Lost blocks - Found!

Found the two lost BOM blocks that I needed to complete the two quilts . . . they hadn't even been made . . . and they were the July 2009 blocks to frost the cake! I have completed one block, but the other is still in pieces. Perhaps by next Monday I will have a completed top to show ummmmm I think not.
We are leaving for Orlando, FL on Sunday for a week! My husband will be attending IRS classes while I will be traveling all over to visit quilt shops. I have loaded my Garmin with several I found online - I can hardly wait! If any of you quilters out there in blogland are aware of some awesome quilt shops in the greater Orlando area, please feel free to contact me via email on my profile page! Hope to hear from someone soon!

Design Wall Monday

This morning on my design wall I have my BOM from 2009/10 but I am missing a block . . . I have two sets of these blocks and the block is missing from both quilts!  Guess I will have to do some digging before I can finish this setting!

Another Quilt Quilted

I quilted this one for Carolyn a week ago and in my haste to finish it, I apparently forgot to post the picture . . .  Carolyn made the quilt from the LQS BOM and is now gifting a family member with it!  I took some pics in the house and the color was totally distorted so I hung it from the 2nd floor clothesline and the color was more accurate!  I used a meandering feather to quilt it!

Design Wall Monday

Oh my, it's only 10:45 am and there are already 35 quilters that have posted their design wall links to Judy's blog . . . well, at least I have something that I am now working on - it's the BOM from the LQS that began in April and I just love the collection we are working with. It's Frolic, by Sandy Gervais for Moda!  I think there must be close to 50 bolts in this collection and the LQS has them all!  I am making 2 quilts from this BOM as we have 2 sets of twin granddaughters.  Currently, I'm in the process of cutting out the pieces for 2 blocks right now (the month of May - yes, I am a little behind), but I did complete the blocks for April!

Stash Report - Week 28

Well, still nothing happening on the stashbusing front.  I cannot seem to break away from the computer - do any of you have that problem?  I had no choice several nights ago when a terrible thunder storm came through and knocked out, cable, phone and internet - it was an ugly scene.  I had to resort to unearthing cleaning my quilt room.  I did not get too far, but at least I can get to my machine now, but there is not a flat surface in the room that isn't buried though . . .

Design Wall Monday

My strip scrap bin is overflowing, so I decided to make some string blocks!  Went to Sam's Club and purchased some Kabnet Wax paper and started!  This is a first for me as I have never made these blocks before.  I followed the tutorial on Bonnie's Blog and it's really easy!  Because I am working with random widths of strips, my strings are rather wonky, but that's ok for me!

Stash Report - Weeks 25, 26 + 27

Oh my gosh, I cannot believe it's been almost a month since I last reported gads, I feel like I have just gone to confession!  Check out my most recent posts to see what we've been up to.  Anywho, my sewing machine is still unplugged from the wall outlet as we were experiencing some pretty bad thunderstorms before we left a month ago, I have a good surge protector, but I still am leary.  So it's been a month, and nothing, nothing has changed with the exception of getting further and further behind on all of the projects I wanted to work on.

She's home!

Well, Olive was discharged this afternoon!  She looks so lost in her crib.  I am so thankful that we are only 7 hours away as we are already planning another visit!

I am exhausted, this past month has been a whirlwind of traveling and I am looking forward to staying home for a bit!

We have a new baby!

We have a new baby in our family and it's a new baby girl!  She is our 7th granddaughter and her name will be Olive!  She was 8 pounds 1 ounce and she is 20 inches and she looks absolutely perfect.  More later as I am in the lobby of the hotel . . .
