Week 33 - Stash Report

Well, my report is the same as last week, although I came close to purchasing fabric yesterday at the swap meet at Aloha Stadium. There were several vendors there that had Hawaiian themed fabrics already cut into squares and rectangles, but I was unsure of the fabric content . . . so I held off purchasing. They do sell a cotton/poly blend that I want to purchase to make tablecloths for our picnic tables and it's only $2.50 yd!

Fabric in this week:    0.000 yards
Total fabric in YTD: 126.529 yards
Fabric used this week:    0.500 yards

Our little Hawaiian grandbabies are doing great, eating more at each feeding and sleeping a little longer with each day since our arrival!

Design Wall Monday

Well, here is what is on my design wall this morning and I am not happy with it. I used different colors of solids for the sashing and the repro prints for the cornerstones, but I do not like all of the different colors. I will be ripping off all the sashing and replacing it with a color that has yet to be determined. I would like to use a darker purple for the 1st inner border. That large floral is what I plan on using for the outer border and binding it with the green that's folded on top or perhaps the dark purple. Check out other design walls by visiting Patchwork Times

Week 32 - Stash Report

Well can't post any new pictures today because my daughter has my camera, so this will be a boring report . . . Didn't purchase any fabric this week with the exception of 2 BOM's. I did get a quilt quilted and bound though and I have been working on a quilt that's been on my design wall for about a month now too, so progress is being made, but slowly!

Fabric in this week: .500 yards
Total fabric in YTD: 126.529 yards

We will be leaving Tuesday morning for Hawaii to visit our newest granddaughters for approx a month. I will try my best to post from there if I'm not too heady from the tropical climate! Aloha!

Design Wall Monday

Design Wall Monday has rolled around again and wonders never cease, this time I actually have something I am working on on the wall! It's Part 2 of Bonnie Hunter's Christmas Lights from the Sept/Oct issue of Quiltmaker magazine. I also have a quilt on the frame. but I've only done 3 rows of a pantograph, so it may be a day or two before I can finish that one as I can only work on it while the girls are napping!

Week 31 - Stash Report

Well, didn't spend too much time at the machine this week, but I did take the time to tally up all the fabric I subcut while we were travelling during weeks 29 + 30. I subcut 5 inch WOF strips from my stash into squares from 1.5 inches to 5 inches in increments of one-half inch . It was the one thing I could take with me that was quilty related without my machine! Just the thought of taking my machine on the plane makes me shudder, so I packed a small mat (12 x 18), my rotary cutter and the 6 x 12 ruler and started cutting up all of the fabric I brought with me! It worked out really well too. There were ironing boards and irons in the rooms we stayed in and there was always a flat surface to cut on. The only problem was the evenings, the lighting was not that good, so next time I might bring my portable OTT Light, but I would carry that on!
