Quilt Room Accident . . .

Last night, I went through and painstakingly labeled each of the baskets from two of the IKEA Towers. I began to remove them and stack them in an out of the way space (which there is very little of). I climbed a ladder to remove some pizza boxes from the top when the towers began to wobble, and then it happened, the towers collapsed and there was a heap of twisted metal on the floor. The damage was severe and it may not be until next week before I am able to reconstruct in a different area of the room. I lost 5 frames and two baskets were flattened. I did not plan for it to go this way . . . Unfortunately, IKEA is 2 hours from me and I was just there on Monday. I am just sick about this.

That's awful Kare. I hope YOU didn't get hurt being up on a ladder. They are so dangerous. (How do I know? My son fell off one a few years ago...broke both arms and his nose-had to have 2 surgeries.)
please take care-I'm sending you hugs, sorry it's not a "room genie" that could fix the whole thing--I don't seem to have that kind of power...

Obviously quilting, and quilting containment, isn't for sissys or just quiet little old ladies. Every time I jump up on one of the stepladders I keep in the studio, I am reminded that this is a dangerous sport. ;-)

I'm glad you're okay! That sounds like a pretty sad mess though.
